Terms of Service

Your use of this website is governed by the terms and conditions set forth below. By using this website, you agree to comply with and be bound by these terms and conditions. You may exit this website now if you do not agree to any of the terms of service.  ScrubMaid may make changes to this website, including these terms and conditions, at any time without notice. You agree to be bound by the current version of these terms.

Pricing 

We stand by our home cleaning service and offer a flat rate based on the size of the home, though we reserve the right to adjust the price for fairness if your home is larger or messier than normal.  If you’d like to cancel for any reason whatsoever, just call anytime to end service. There is no contract that locks you in. 

Payments 

      • We require a major credit or debit card on file to schedule an appointment. 
      • We may place a hold (shows as “pending” on some statements)–not a charge–from the time of scheduling to the time of the cleaning. 
      • Your card will be charged when the cleaning is complete. 
      • We may charge a $25 late payment fee in the case of a declining card not allowing our usual charge window.

Guarantee 

We offer a full-service guarantee. This includes a free re-clean of the spots that were missed during your initial cleaning. If you are not satisfied with the re-clean you are entitled to a full refund. 

This guarantee does not necessarily apply if: 
      • You alerted us to the issue more than 48 hours post-cleaning by contacting us on Scrubmaid.com “Contact Us” option
      • You were present during the cleaning and approved the work on-site. 
      • You under-adjusted the original estimate we made through our website or over the phone. 

Safety 

Due to safety concerns, we will not allow our cleaners to climb ladders, move and/or lift heavy items. If you would like us to clean behind large appliances or furniture, please move them prior to our arrival.

Arrival 

We reserve the right to arrive at your home within a 1-hour window of the scheduled cleaning time. For example, if the booking time is 12:00 PM, we may arrive between 11 AM and 1 PM. 

Cancellations 

We request that cancellations take place at least 24 hours before the time of the home cleaning appointment. 

      • You may reschedule, skip, or cancel any of your cleanings. We do ask for a 24-hour notice of any of these actions. Without 24-hour notice, there is a $75 fee. 
      • Cleaners being denied access to the home at the time of cleaning (due to a customer no-show or lock-out) will result in a $99 fee. 


General Liability

      • The housekeeper needs to be able to work freely and without distractions. Be advised that if the housekeeper is subject to distractions that affect his/her ability to work he/she may not efficiently complete items on your to-do list. 
      • The Housekeeper and ScrubMaid assume no liability for damage or loss of items that are not secured in a proper manner, or previously damaged before cleaning. (Example: heavy pictures hanging from thumbtacks, or dings in furniture that were there before we cleaned). Further, Housekeeper will assume no liability for damage or loss caused by the negligence of the customer. 
      • Items of extreme value (monetary or sentimental) should be dusted or cleaned by the owner. 
      • Collaboration & Non-Compete  

a) Collaboration is solely by and between ScrubMaid and the Homeowner and can take place via email, phone, or any other means proposed. 

b) While this agreement is in effect, the Homeowner is not allowed to directly hire (directly pay) or work with the housekeeper provided unless the Homeowner pays a referral fee (see paragraph d). 

c) After the Homeowner has ended its collaboration with ScrubMaid the Homeowner is not allowed to directly hire or work with the Housekeeper without written consent from ScrubMaid. In the alternative, if Homeowner fails to seek written consent then Homeowner shall not directly hire or work with housekeeper prior to the expiration of one year from the date of this Agreement (the date of your last service). In either event, the referral fee described in paragraph (d) below is expected to be paid in a timely fashion. 

d) The Homeowner may also pay a referral fee of $1,500.00 to ScrubMaid after six months of services are provided if the Homeowner wants to hire and work with the housekeeper directly ($1,500.00 per Housekeeper). 

f) If Homeowner fails to pay the above-described exit fee, then ScrubMaid shall reserve the right to pursue a claim for damages. Both parties acknowledge the difficulty of calculating damages under this non-compete clause. As such, both parties agree that in the event of any violations, ScrubMaid will be entitled to liquidated damages of $10,000, set for the purpose of discouraging violations, which liquidated damages are to be awarded in favor of ScrubMaid and against the Homeowner. 

Reviews 

We require 7 days to resolve any and all issues before you post feedback to non- ScrubMaid platforms. This includes, but is not limited to, Google+, Angie’s List, and Yelp. We work incredibly hard to take care of our clientele and we appreciate that this respect is mutual
